Young People Let us Arise

I guess it has come to a time in our society when we all have to come out of this stupor or sought of mental slumber that has chained us to our poor state of development.

In Kenya and who knows where else the young people are just concerned with simple things and undeserving endeavors. In their conversations they are just talking of girls, boys, a certain movie star, oh the soccer match that was over the weekend, the musician who is coming to campus this weekend, the latest vehicle in the market and maybe even the latest model of phones that are streaming into the technological world.

In my view, I would not deny the fact that we young people ought to enjoy life to the fullest but even the wisest man who ever lived in Ecclesiastes 12: 1 says ¶ Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them.

Therefore how do we remember our creator? Is it by having parties all night long 7 days a week? Is it by following every single musician who lands in town? Is it by trying to lure every lady into your bed or better yet every man into your bed? Well I guess this verse maybe very common to the young people and it definitely has got misinterpreters.

What I understand is that God has given us talents, abilities, gifts and all that is necessary for us to worship Him and draw people to Christ. Therefore while we are still young, we have the valor and vigor in our own capacities to serve Him and make Him proclaimed among the nations.

A question was asked, Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? and the answer was, by taking heed thereto according to thy word. Psalms 119:9.

Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the LORD is risen upon thee. Isiah 60:1 is my call to my fellow young people.
